A: Because the black bolts cost more to make than the "au naturel" bolts.
Q: Why are the OZ wheel bolts a different price?
A: Because they are longer and I made fewer of them.

A: Because my margins are not 700-900% like some other suppliers.

A: Of course, they are made from recycled stealth fighter parts at our Area 51.5 factory..

A: Yes, you should have, but it is never too late to get with the program. These have a 130NM or 95.88307928804159 ft-lb spec. Your OEM McLaren Steel bolts have the same spec.
Q: OK, what is the service life of these wheel bolts?
A: That depends..
Q: My tech wants to slather "never seize" all over these bolts - is that a good idea?
A: No, that changes the torque spec. Just make sure everything is CLEAN and that your hub bolt holes are not rusty.
